Perth Location Guide with Takumi.

  • South Perth Foreshore.

Sir James Mitchell Park is located along the southern foreshore of South Perth. It is a popular area with dog walkers and families. You get a great view of the city from this side of the river. Dogs are permitted off-lead in some sections.

  • Hyde Park.

This inner-city park is pretty amazing all year round. It is especially magical during the golden hours in autumn. Massive shady Moreton Bay Fig trees, flower beds, old-fashion green lawns, a lake and an ice-cream truck. What not to love. Note: Dogs must be on lead.

  • Kings Park.

Situated north of the river above the city, Kings Park has incredible CBD and river views. Many walking paths to explore. Beautiful native trees and flowers. Dogs are permitted in certain sections of the park and they must be on a lead no longer than two metres.

  • Hedley Jorgensen Park, Kalamunda.

This park was the site of the original Kalamunda Golf Clubs. Close proximity to Kalamunda town centre. It borders on Kalamunda National Park and locates just off the car park of the Kalamunda Learning Centre, at the end of Crescent Road. Easy 2.7 km loop walk. Dogs are permitted off-lead here unless signage says otherwise.

  • South Freo Dog Beach, Fremantle.

Perth has many beautiful dog beaches, but we come to this one most often because the waves are generally not too much for Takumi to handle. Handy little cafes and car park nearby. Summer days can be hectic. We prefer early mornings as it’s not too windy and the light is not harsh. Overcast days are great for photography too.

  • Raeburn Orchards, Roleystone.

Raeburn Orchards is a very popular spot for photographers. The colours are gorgeous in autumn. NOTE: On the weekend peak season you’ll likely be among hundreds of people and it can be overwhelming and not so much fun for your furbaby. The place is also lovely during spring. $5 entry and dogs allowed.
